What It Takes To Be A Fashion Blogger

I did contemplate a lot about writing this article as I think that it is quite soon, considering I am still building my fan base and I’ve got a long way to go yet in my blogging career. But then I figured, when would actually be the right time? So why not, I’m sure all of you that have been with me this far would want to read this and as a thank you for all your constant support, I shall be sharing with you all my thoughts on blogging and what it takes to be a blogger! Street Stride

This tweed set is easily my favourite pieces from my own clothing brand, Nün Bangkok. For me, twin set clothings work just as well as dresses in a sense that the piece(s) itself is an entire outfit, which allows you to get ready in no time! So usually, if I’m running late or I’m really stuck on what to wear, I would either pick a dress to wear or a twin set. It really saves a lot of time and frustration! And usually if I want to show a bit more effort in the outfit, I would throw on a jacket to polish off the look!

Passing Through

I’M BACK! Apologies for the lack of posts! I’ve had the busiest past few weeks and I’ve really been meaning to put up a post but just haven’t had the time. Things got really busy for me very quickly starting almost three weeks ago when I landed a shoot with Marie Claire Thailand magazine, December issue. It was an exciting experience and I kind of wish I could do something like that all the time! I will write another blog post about it once I get all the photos from the shoot!

Exactly a week later I then had a live TV interview with GMM Grammy’s Green Channel. I find it most useful in these circumstances to NOT prep my answers as I find that I’m most natural when I’m not prepped and not anxious. The interview was about how I started blogging and how that finally led to Tom and I starting our own brand, Nün Bangkok. I’m going to be linking the interview on my facebook page where you all can have a watch there! Unfortunately it’s in Thai though!

All the while we are also working tirelessly on our new collection for Nün Bangkok! We’re finalizing all our designs at the moment and some designs are in the middle of getting samples of them made. Tom and I have been driving back and forth to the fabric market very frequently, buying and carrying back kilos worth of fabric for our sample designs. It’s tiring but I cannot imagine anything more exciting and satisfying for me than this! We’ve also recently been meeting up with a Thai online shop, Pomelo, every week to set up our selling Nün Bangkok garments on their website. This is an extremely exciting opportunity for us and we are very grateful to be a part of the Pomelo team! I can’t imagine how I ever lived without fashion.

To top off the epicness that is these few weeks, I’ve also been running around, in and out of different shows at Elle Fashion Week Thailand. My partners in crime for these events are Tom and Elise. Big thanks for Elise (from A Piece Of Elise) for getting me more tickets and for sharing an awesome evening with me!

This has got to be one of my favourite outfits of recent times! I haven’t felt in my element as much as I did in this outfit as I felt that every aspect of it is completely Nün! The highlight of this outfit for me would have to be the fact that the whole outfit is black but there are so many different textures to look at. Not to mention, black on black is also a timeless look that is both sleek and edgy at the same time.

Style tip alert!: Give your monochromatic outfit a style booster by focusing on mixing fabrics and textures!

Hopping into a pair of super loud sneakers with my monochromatic outfit has also been my obsession as of late, so when I spotted this pair of Nike Air at the mall the other day, I couldn’t buy them fast enough.

Waking Dream

I don’t know if anyone else has been feeling tired and moody lately but I sure have been feeling that way. My guess would be that I’m over working myself and so every week I burn out extremely quickly, leading to my rotten mood half way through the week. If you were to see me on a daily basis, you would notice that I always start off my week dressed rather enthusiastically and as I hit mid week, I’m already living and working in my PJs. The trouble is, I find that the less effort I put into getting dressed and making myself look nice, the more sluggish and moody I feel. So lately I’ve been trying a new approach that especially on bad days or tough days that I’m not particularly looking forward to, I will try to put an outfit together that is bright yet still comfortable. This has worked like magic! It’s strange but your outfit really can dictate and lift your mood and sometimes wearing bright colours can make you feel lighter and happier.

So make sure you all get a good rest this weekend and try it this ‘bright outfit’ theory this coming week! Dress bright, feel light, and most importantly, all things in moderation so that whatever it is that you are doing can be prolonged rather than burning yourself out right at the start line.
